  4. I'm celebrating Kansas Day as well. I've been told by someone who is from another state that other states don't celebrate their birthday and we're weird. So be it. I bicycle and today is also the day that Biking Across Kansas announces its route so it has two fun events. Happy sewing!

  7. Born and raised in northern Nevada, where we celebrate our birthday as well...October 31! I always thought we were getting out of school for Halloween when I was a kid. Kansas has pretty sunflowers, Nevada just brought in silver to fund the Civil War and now, if Nevada were a separate country, it would be the 3rd largest gold producing nation in the world, behind South Africa and Australia. You were looking for a little history lesson on the states, weren't you??? Now I live on a farm in eastern Washington (the Evergreen State, not that you would think that with where I live!).

  9. Well, I am from Ohio but have lived the most years in Tokyo. Maybe I need to move to Nevada so I can have a real holiday on my birthday.

  10. My roots to Kansas go back to the early 1830's when the government moved the Miami Indians from Indiana to Kansas. I was born and raised in the same town as my father, grandparents and great grandparents were born and raised in. I now live 15 miles across the state line in Missouri but the rest of my family still lives in Kansas so if asked I will say I'm a true daughter of Kansas.

  13. Born and raised in Lawrence, KS. Married into the military (he was from Lawrence, too) and been all over. We don't have much family left there - our son and his family and some cousins. Both of our parents are gone and I lost my little brother last summer.

We get back now and then to visit our granddaughter, though :D

  14. First to sign in from another country! I'm from Liverpool in England and proud of my city. Birthplace of the Beatles and a city with lots of culture and history, beautiful buildings and 9 major art galleries and museums.
I only found your blog today whilst browsing for ideas for Card Trick Blocks and I'm really loving it so I'll add my name as a follower.
