Are you a saver like Helen? What does your fabric stash look like? (Did reading this book make you want to clean out those boxes in your attic and basement?) Inquiring minds want to know! By commenting, you are entering your name in a giveaway for Clare O'Donohue's book, The Devil's Puzzle, part of her Someday Quilts Mystery Series. Plume Books has generously offered copies of Clare's book for TWO lucky winners this month. Remember that if you are reading via email, you must click on the title of my blog post to be able to comment and to read the comments of others.
As a heads up, the Quilters' Book Club selection for August is Between Heaven and Texas by Marie Bostwick. Get the book so you can begin reading, discussing, and quilting with us next month!

I could totally identify with two of the characters. I am a packrat, I recently helped take care of my mom, who was a packrat. I also am the granddaughter of a quilter. I did not get her quilts when she died, but I did get her betweens. I felt like I was holding the Holy Grail!
ReplyDeleteReading that story made me wish I had extra bedrooms or an attic or a basement so I wouldn't be tripping over stacked buckle-boxes in my hallway.
ReplyDeleteI'm a rampant neat-nick without a file cabinet!
I certainly don't hide money away, there is always some new fabric or threads to tempt me. I definitely need to have a sort out and throw out some items in my sewing room. It is so cluttered at the moment it is stopping me from being creative.
ReplyDeleteI am a saver, but have neither an attic or basement, so you can just image what my sewing room looks like!
ReplyDeleteI'm trying at this very moment to sort through my house & purge items. The last two years my life has been a whirlwind with very little time spent on my house. I dread when I get to the sewing room. Invariably I rid of something that a week later I realize I have finally found a use! Frustrating! I can identify with the book since I have daughters that often want to guide me in what they think is important to keep or not keep.
ReplyDeleteI save fabric scraps, but have a very limited space to keep them so my stash is small. I don't often buy fabric that isn't for a specific project. I cleaned out and sorted my fabric scraps by color last summer and am glad to report that the system has lasted into this summer!
ReplyDeleteYes!!! LOL! Waiting for my son to come home now to remove a chest of drawers and a trunk from my home. Been tossing lot's of things today while sheetrock work is being done on my house by a friend. He's taking some things. LOL!
ReplyDeleteI am a fabric collector. I need to spend less time shopping for beautiful fabrics & sew more!
