Snowball Quilt Block and Snow Icing!

Winter Linens

Just water
solid water
just water frozen white

clinging to every leaf and chunk of gravel
lying along every twig and wire
mounding over every stump and silent ball

and in the dawning light
this water frozen white
glows cold and comfort both

as if to step out and lie down in it
to sink into the layer that lines the slope of the slide
would be a copy coming home to bed.

  1. The Japan Sea side gets lots of snow but Tokyo is blessed with only three or four snowfalls per winter. They usually last only a few days but last winter we did have a few weeks worth at one time.

  2. It hAs only snowed once here in thirteen years but 5minutes away does get a nice thin cover regularly every year.
We have a town nearby called Mt Macedon which gets a lot of snow cover and looks beautiful.
My daughter works there at the cafe.
Woodend also has a tourist attraction called "Hanging Rock" which gets covered in snow

  3. Two weeks ago we were at our shack in central Tasmania (Australia) and overnight had 5 inches of snow fall. The trees looked amazing. I live on the coast so we have to go to the highlands to see these big snowfalls during winter months

  6. We have snow here in Ohio. Lots of it. If you live in northern Ohio you get dumped on all the time - if you live in southern Ohio snow but no major dumps last few winters. We in southern Ohio are due for some heavy snow.

  7. It's snowing here in the California mountains right now. We're all hoping for a LOT of snow so our local ski resorts can be open for Thanksgiving weekend.
