Secret Santa Give-Away for the Quilters' Book Club

This year in the Quilters' Book Club, we've read two of Marie Bostwick's books - A Single Thread (first in her Cobbled Court Quilts series) and Between Heaven and Texas.  I recently spoke with her publishers, Kensington Books, and got a special give-away for the book club!

Kensington Books recently released a special Christmas book called Secret Santa.  Inside are four short stories, including "The Yellow Rose of Christmas" by Marie.  Here's the blurb on the back of the book:

"Though Miss Velvet Tudmore wrote off romance years ago, rumor has it she has a secret admirer.  And when her surprise suitor promises to reveal himself at the annual Christmas ball in Too Much, Texas, Velvet starts to wonder: is it ever too late to find love?"

If you've read Between Heaven and Texas, I know that reading this description will make you excited to read this story!

Other short stories in the book include "Mister Christmas" by Fern Michaels, "Nightmare on Elf Street" by Laura Levine, and "Room at the Inn" by Cindy Myers.

Do you have a favorite Christmas book?  Inquiring minds want to know!Answer in the comment section below and enter your name for a chance to win a copy of Secret Santa.  I have two copies to give away.  I will draw the winning names on Thursday, November 14!

  2. Oh I love anything with Christmas and since my nickname is Elfkins I will HAVE to get that book. Nightmare on Elf Street indeed. LOL. Hopefully I will win one but either way I will have to get it. My favorite book? Hmm. A Christmas Carole by Dickens. I read it every year and watch all the versions of it on dvd or tv that I can.

  4. My most favorite Christmas book is the Bible account of Christmas. Next on the list is The Best Christmas Pageant Ever by Barbara Robinson. Now that I work in children's ministry, I can appreciate this book even more!

  5. Sounds like a fun read. I have a whole collection of Christmas theme books. I don't think I have a 'favorite' one.

  6. Have you ever read J.R.R. Tolkien, "The Father Christmas Letters"? Being a Tolkien fan, this is a great read. A favorite though? I'd have to go with the Bible story. I don't even need to look at it because the words are in my head.

  7. My favorite Chrismas book would have to be the Bible Story followed by Dickens and A Christmas Carol. =)

  8. I don't have a favorite Christmas story. I enjoy them all! Julie, I haven't read the "Father Christmas Letters" but will have to check that out! The short stories by some of my favorite authors seems like a great way to warm up to Christmas this year.

  9. My favorite book was about unplugging the Christmas machine. it is all about bringing the hoiday to the forfront, making your own traditions not falling into the shopping trao. love it.

  10. My favorite Christmas book is The Christmas Quilt by Jennifer Chiaverini. I love all her books. I would love to win a copy of Secret Santa, it sounds great! It would be a good one to read this winter snuggled under a quilt. Have a great day!

  11. Debbie Macomber Starry Night is great; Richard Evans wrote The Christmas List; I liked Jennifer Chiaverini The Christmas Quilt. I read Starry Night last weekend--a super read and The Christmas List is super. I don't have one that I read each year.

  12. I don't have a favorite Christmas book (other than "The Night Before Christmas" poem, which I read to my son and now my granddaughter), but I do love Christmas themed stories and novels. I would love to win The Secret Santa.

  13. My favorite Christmas book has always been Miracle on 34th Street by Valentine Davies. I actually have a first edition published in 1947. While I know I should reread the book every year I always search out the movie, make some hot chocolate and enjoy watching it before Christmas. (The 1994 remake is my favorite.)
