  1. I think I would have to arrive really early to beat Charlie to the coffee shop! I don't drink coffee. Well occasionally I will have a small cup after a large dinner - like at Christmas. Really I only drink about two cups of coffee a year. I like the taste of coffee but the caffeine does bad things to me. And I have just never got into drinking decaf.

  2. I drink VATS of coffee. With milk, no sugar. Love the colors in this block!!

  3. Alas, no. Not any more. While I used to be a two-pot-a-day person, the doctor says no more coffee for me. I still miss it, however. I've been busted back to herbal tea. Blah!

  4. I love coffee!! Especially Gevalia Hazelnut with a little cream (real cow's cream - yes, I milk a cow every day!) In fact, I might just go brew a pot (mid afternoon after working on a water trough with hubby)We have a light north breeze so though not cold - a little pick my up in the mid afternoon! I usually have about two cups or so in the morning and then one in the afternoon! One of my favorite times is on a cold winter day, sewing in my sewing room with Beethoven in the CD player and a cup of java!!

  5. Will someone who is a coffee drinker please make this Quilter's Coffee Recipe and let me know what you think? I made some for my son, an avid coffee drinker (though not a quilter!), and he didn't like it. I need another opinion as well.

  6. My Swedish Grandmother gave me a sip of coffee when I was 6 months old! My Irish mother was horrified and r wondered why I did not sleep much. I did not really drink coffee until college days--to stay up for finals. I do drink coffee now, but not as much as I did when I was a working librarian. It does pep up the day. Also delicious with cocoa mix for a Mocha drink.

  7. i am a coffee drinker, but don't think i would make this. i just don't think it sounds good. i like cinnamon, and i like ginger, and a gingerbread latte from starbucks sounds wonderful right now, but i don't think i would like the "graininess" of the ground spices, even though they are microscopic almost, of this recipe. i think it would also need some sweetening.....

  8. I finished listening to A Single Thread and started right in on A Thread of Truth! I hope I can download the others in the series -- perfect accompaniment as I sew.

  9. Coffee courses through my veins giving me LIFE! ha! I can't do anything in the mornings without my coffee. I like it doctored up with flavored creamers and sweetner. If anyone else in my house would drink this, I would make it. I'll try it the next holiday for sure. It would especially go great with some Coffee Cake!!

  10. I don't drink coffee at all, as it really doesn't agree with me. I love the smell of fresh coffee and feel I miss out in the meeting of friends in coffee shops for a latte or something similar with a cake.

  11. Coffee and I have been the best of friends since I was 7-8 years old! My mother would brew a pot in the afternoon when the little kids(my younger siblings) were napping. If I was really good, she would ask if I would like a cup of coffee with her. She would then break out a special china cup, fill it about 2/3 of the way with ice cold milk and poor a shot of coffee in just to give it a little color. I thought I was the bees knees...all grown up and sharing a cup of coffee with my mom! She's now 87 and we still share a good cup of coffee together.
My favorite is the Traditional Roast Whole Bean from Gevalia. We've had it shipped to our door for over 30 years! We grind it fresh just before brewing. I could drink it all day.

I love hearing from readers. Your comments make my day!
