Aunt Jane of Kentucky, a woman who made many quilts, once gave a poignant reason for her love of quilting: ". . . when I'm dead and gone there ain't anybody goin' to think o' the floors I've swept, and the tables I've scrubbed, and the old clothes I've patched . . . but when one of my grandchildren sees one o' these quilts, they'll think about Aunt Jane, and wherever I am, I'll know I ain't forgotten." ReplyDeleteI am getting the last books for Xmas. This would be a great prize for anyone to treasure
The Elm Creek Quilts Series is a terrific series. I lost mine to a quilting friend but that's ok because it means she is liking it. It would be great to add to the collection. I also am happy that this months book was a free download on Kindle! That's like getting an early Christmas present.
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to reading the book. Thanks for the link to the article. It provided a good historical review of quilts and the women who made them.
