DeleteI haven't decided yet but I am thinking about the quilt the group made for Evelyn. There was a description of the hearts and I might try my interpretation of that.
ReplyDeleteJulie, a free pattern for a Broken Hearts Mending quilt is available through Marie Bostwick's blog if you sign up to become a Reading Friend of hers. It might give you some ideas, although I know you are very creative!
DeleteI want to add a friendship block to my quilt, as I am envious of the special bonds the ladies in both this book and the previous novel make. I have made some wonderful friends through quilting, with one special friend. But here in the UK, we tend to lead such busy lives that take over, we don't always have the time to stitch as much as we would like. I might also be involved in too many projects. I would also love to include the pink ribbon block, as I have always wanted to make this, as it is a charity that I support. However, I'm not sure that it will fit in with the rest of the blocks, so I will probably place it on the back.
ReplyDeleteA friendship block would be perfect for your quilt, Diane. And I like the idea of including a pink ribbon block on the back as well. When we visited England several years ago, I thought you all led a more relaxed life than we did in the U.S. - but maybe I felt that way because I was on vacation!
DeleteI chose to make a Cobblestones block in red and white. I think the Pink Ribbon block is perfect for this book but thought the message of a PINK Ribbon block might somehow get lost in my chosen colors of red and white!
