Welcome Spring with a Bees and Fields Quilt Block

Bees and Fields Quilt Block Pattern Information
Welcome, Spring!  I am so thankful that it's officially spring!  Spring begins around March 20 of each year.  That day is called the spring equinox.  An equinox occurs when the sun is just above the equator.  At this time the days and nights are of equal length everywhere.

After that, daylight continues to get longer.  In fact, in spring, the temperatures spring upward and the hours of daylight get longer at a quicker rate.

Spring

I’m shouting
I’m singing
I’m swinging through trees
I’m winging sky-high
With the buzzing black bees.
I’m the sun
I’m the moon
I’m the dew on the rose.
I’m a rabbit
Whose habit
Is twitching his nose.
I’m lively
I’m lovely
I’m kicking my heels.
I’m crying “Come dance”
to the freshwater eels.
I’m racing through meadows
Without any coat
I’m a gamboling lamb
I’m a light leaping goat
I’m a bud
I’m a bloom
I’m a dove on the wing.
I’m running on rooftops
And welcoming spring!

  2. We had snow (about a tenth of an inch) early this morning. It's now in the upper 40's, but, more snow/freezing rain for tonight, into the morning. I'm wondering if Summer will ever come here.

  3. We had a nice sunny day. The cat couldn't find enough sun to sun herself in. It warmed up the house so nice. There was even sunshine coming through the basement window.

  4. A nice sunny day but the wind is rattling the shutters ... the lion roars! The lambs are hiding.

  5. Happy Spring to you also. Here in Chattanooga it was a nice sunny day, around 65 with a little wind but after this winter I will take a little wind. The next few days are suppose to be similar and then a cold snap for another week but all and all I will take the official start of spring knowing that it is right around the corner.

  6. The day began with a dusting of snow on the ground that quickly melted. We didn't see the sun until after noon and the highest temperature I noticed was about 37 F. I keep hoping for a real spring to arrive! I'd like to see some daffodils and tulips soon!
