Welcome to Our Mountain Home Counted Cross Stitch

"A misty, moisty morning, when cloudy was the weather."

There's actually a mountain behind those trees and fog!

The hummingbirds drain the feeder every day.

The acorns on the scrub oak continue to grow.

The Douglas fir bark forms interesting patterns.

The yarrow is blooming

in different colors.
Rain in Summer
How beautiful is the rain!
After the dust and heat,
In the broad and fiery street,
In the narrow lane,
How beautiful is the rain!
How it clatters along the roofs,
Like the tramp of hoofs!
How it gushes and struggles out
From the throat of the overflowing spout!
Across the window pane
It pours and pours;
And swift and wide,
With a muddy tide,
Like a river down the gutter roars
The rain, the welcome rain!

  1. Just beautiful, Susan. I'm so glad the fires stayed away from your home, and you still have your lovely trees!
