July Redwork Snowman Plus Christmas in July Bonus

America The Beautiful
O beautiful for spacious skies,
   For amber waves of grain,
For purple mountain majesties
   Above the fruited plain!
          America!  America!
God shed His grace on thee,
And crown thy good with brotherhood
   From sea to shining sea!

O beautiful for pilgrim feet,
   Whose stern, impassioned stress
A thoroughfare for freedom beat
   Across the wilderness!
          America!  America!
   God mend thine every flaw,
Confirm thy soul in self-control,
   Thy liberty in law!

O beautiful for heroes proved
   In liberating strife,
Who more than self their country loved,
   And mercy more than life!
          America!  America!
   May God thy gold refine
Till all success be nobleness
   And every gain divine!

O beautiful for patriot dream
   That sees beyond the years
Thine alabaster cities gleam
   Undimmed by human tears!
          America!  America!
God shed His grace on thee
And crown thy good with brotherhood
   From sea to shining sea!

    1. Judy, I found the patterns several years ago on the internet. However, I believe that the designer has passed away and the patterns have been removed from the internet.

Thanks so much for posting these awesome blocks, the bonus is extra special. I am still working on my Winter Twitterings, just two blocks left to do, then I am starting this little snowman quilt.

  5. I used to love needlework and have not really done any in many many years, but, seeing yours tempts me. These snowmen and those birdies are wonderful!

  6. Such a cheerful collection of redwork embroidery designs!! I enjoy doing redwork when I am away from home because RED is the only thread I need to remember to bring with me, and I can stitch the designs while carrying on a conversation. As much as I love cross stitch, it's not nearly as portable as redwork and with all the counting, I can't talk with friends at the same time. Thanks for sharing!

  7. I've never done redwork before. I am learning embroidery by embroidering titles on my Harry Potter book case quilt books. I keep a block in my purse at all times, and can pull it out if I have enough time to add a few stitches.

  9. I wanted to let you know that I have absolutely loved your redwork snowmen! I have kept up with each block and have the first six already bordered and sewn into two rows. I can't tell you how happy I was to see you shared TWO of the snowmen this time!!! Thank you so much. I remain your loyal reader!

  10. Thanks so much for sharing your blocks! I've always enjoyed embroidery but never had touched red work until 2 years ago. For some reason I fell in love with the color red in my 50's. That has been a godsend with my busy life since red work only requires one color making it simpler to transport, as well as, work on with other distractions.
