The Joys of a Spring Snow

Outside there's cold and snow.

Inside, there's tea

and brownies

and a good book to listen to

while I sew for my grandson.

  1. I thought of you when I heard the weather report. That snow is very pretty, especially in someone else's yard. Happy stitching and sipping!

    1. I thought the same thing - that snow is lovely, as long as it's not my backyard! I'll be jealous when it is green and blooming. Enjoy.

  3. Spring finally seems to have arrived in the UK (South East), and I'm hoping it stays. The garden is coming alive and it's great to hang the washing outside. However, nothing like a good excuse to sew.

We are having rain, rain, and more rain.

  5. I have just joined in. I hope I know what I am doing. I have read your April book selection and loved the book and look forward to the discussion and choosing a block.

This is a wonderful idea. Thank you.

  6. You have a beautiful view Susan. It is still snowing here in Minnesota too. I have been staying inside drinking tea and quilting also. (On my days off work at the hospital) I am looking forward to spring and planting my garden. Usually I like to have it planted around May 1st, some things sooner. The ground is still frozen here, I don't think I'll be able to plant anytime soon. At least its good quilting weather! Have a great day! If you were my neighbor I'd invite you over for a cup of tea and a scone today.

  7. I just bought that book last weekend. Hope it's good. Mine is hardback, not audio. Sorry about the snow, at least it's pretty.

  8. Wow, what a cosy & inviting scene you have. I love the photos & especially your beautiful Featherweight machine.
I own a Featherweight too, I purchased mine after reading The Quilter's Apprentice several years ago. The description of the machines in the book got me curious about them & I had to own one too!
It was lovely to re-read this book & bring back the memory of that.

  9. What a beautiful place you live at. How wonderful to see such images of nature outside. Then to have those warm and cozy items in your house. This might be my favorite blog of yours. It is so warm and loving, especially the part of sewing with your grandson. :)
