Mine was so beautiful with a band of cloisonne and the date and my initials engraved inside. It was stolen from my sewing box at a basketball game about 25 years ago but I will never forget it and the tradition carried on for my own four daughters.Julie Fukudahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15704374750710761269noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6511052179322289323.post-190752717209766202012-08-15T08:50:50.874-06:002012-08-15T08:50:50.874-06:00This is the spool block I have been looking for! ...This is the spool block I have been looking for! One person wondered (politely) why I had the "thread" going up and down on the spool. I could not understand what she was talking about and put it out to the group. It seemed to me that my thread was going around the spool. Is this how other people saw it? Finally, someone solved the problem. She said, "It would seem there are 2 spools, one vertical with the brown wooden spool and stripe for thread, the other is horizontal with pale spool and the stripe running from end to end. Its like the drawing of the Old hag and young woman. Some people find it impossible to see both images." The minute I read that, I looked at my picture again and could see the horizontal pale spool. I had only noticed the vertical brown spool with the striped thread!Starwood Quilterhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02772697925399908332noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6511052179322289323.post-9855081402821568332011-08-18T21:01:39.645-06:002011-08-18T21:01:39.645-06:00What a nice present.
