I've never made a doll other than using a panel (sew around and stuff) for a Valentine bear when my daughter was little. I have done some doll clothes and some teddy bears as well.
I know from a local quilt show that doll making can be quite intricate!Mary Annhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03537064991356900973noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6511052179322289323.post-11701176315782316932013-10-30T07:59:55.795-06:002013-10-30T07:59:55.795-06:00Only made doll clothes. 24Tangent@gmail.comOnly made doll clothes. 24Tangent@gmail.comQuilting Tangenthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13060293296296157514noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6511052179322289323.post-1686817800655501022013-10-29T17:17:39.593-06:002013-10-29T17:17:39.593-06:00I used to make 25 inch tall Raggedy Ann and Andy d...I used to make 25 inch tall Raggedy Ann and Andy dolls in white and black. Then I did the bear a blanket out of the same material because it was winter after all and the bear needed something to tuck in when it hibernated. I heard that the girls took those everywhere. I had to put their initials on the bears so they wouldn't fight over which one was whose. All three girls are only a year or two apart in ages. Does that count? :)Bonnihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15602027495997890298noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6511052179322289323.post-17017860300635951762013-10-25T14:45:23.970-06:002013-10-25T14:45:23.970-06:00My mom made my kids Raggedy Ann and Andy dolls. I would use the same fabric to make a doll dress and make one to match or vice versa for the grand. Another grand got an 10 inch doll with all the clothes. I showed the smaller with clothes in our county fair. Thank you for your contributions to our list.
I have made dolls in the past, mostly church babies. My mother made these dolls to give to each of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She also crocheted me a baby doll that was about the size of a real baby. I treasure this doll and still have it though I gave away most of my other 20 plus dolls.gmafloridahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17662784389380009920noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6511052179322289323.post-51682408963987231082013-10-24T08:14:59.446-06:002013-10-24T08:14:59.446-06:00Yes, I have made a few dolls and given them as gif...Yes, I have made a few dolls and given them as gifts.
